074.003 Why does the word ربك come before كبّر ?

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ (74.3)

The usual order of a sentence which starts with a verb in Arabic is verb (what is being done) - subject (who is doing the verb)-  object (the word the verb is being done to). The verb in this ayah is كبّر to declare as great and the object is ربك your Lord. By placing the object before the verb the verb is limited to that object i.e. Only declare and consider Your Lord as the greatest.

تخصيص التكبير لله

وقوله: وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ أمر آخر له صلى الله عليه وسلم ولفظ وَرَبَّكَ منصوب على التعظيم لفعل فَكَبِّرْ قدم على عامله لإفادة التخصيص :ط:
